JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Justice Department said they're committed to protecting your vote through free and fair elections.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Mississippi, the FBI, the Mississippi Secretary of State's Office and other partners are educating and preparing various groups on how to respond to election crimes.

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Maher Dimachkie said the agency continues to see election crimes in voter and ballot fraud, civil rights violations, campaign finance offenses and threats to election workers.

“We continue to face very real threats from those who seek to undermine our elections using cyber malicious activities and foreign malign activities," Dimachkie stated.

To report election crime complaints to the Jackson FBI Field Office, contact 1-800-CALLFBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit a tip online.
