PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) - Pike County EMA officials said crews are ready to respond to any storm damage from Hurricane Francine.

Tina Reed, Pike County EMA Director, asked neighbors to be indoors no later than 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. She said they need to secure everything in their yard that could blow away.

Most stores have limited supplies left, according to Reed.

"We have all of our departments, all the volunteers and the paid department getting their equipment ready, testing chainsaws, generators, that type of thing. Making sure everybody's ready and knows, you know, what they're going to be doing, because we expect a lot of trees and power lines down with this after the drought last year," said Reed.

She said the Pike County safe room will be open in Magnolia. It's located on Quinlivan Road.
