Nine stolen vehicles recovered in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Several stolen vehicles were recovered in Jackson on Tuesday thanks to the Auto Task Force, which is made up of members of the Jackson Police Department (JPD) and the Capitol Police Department.

Investigators said nine vehicles were recovered, including eight by Jackson police on Marydale Drive and a Hyundai by Capitol police at another location.

Detective Tommie Brown, with JPD, said one of the vehicles recovered, a white Toyota Camry, was recently carjacked from Terry Road.

“There were four Hyundais that were at this location that were reported stolen. Also, one Chevy Camaro, one Ford Taurus, and one Jeep Cherokee. So, the vehicles have been now recovered. They're being loaded up and transported to the various areas where they belong," said Brown.

Victor Porter, who drives a white 2019 Hyundai Accent, said the AirPods in his car were tracked to Marydale Drive. He said the vehicle now has to be investigated.

“They're taking my car to the crime scene because it was spent shells in there that I didn't have, and they wasn't in there before," Porter said.

He said his vehicle was stolen early Tuesday morning. After checking the security cameras, Porter said he didn't see anything, and he called police.

Brown said the owner of a black Hyundai also reported that his vehicle was stolen on Tuesday. It was also recovered.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday, July 23.
