RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) - Another ALDI grocery location is coming to the Jackson-metro area.

The Clarion Ledger reported that the Ridgeland Board of Aldermen voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve site plans for the grocery store. The ALDI will be located in the Renaissance shopping center.

According to the City of Ridgeland, the ALDI is part of the Renaissance Phase 3B. The plan also includes sites for T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, PetSmart and La-Z-Boy.

Bryan Johnson, the economic development director for Ridgeland, said the ALDI will be located between Costco and the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee said groundwork for the project should take place soon.

“Well, they'll be going pretty soon, within the next couple of months, or at least by August. We expect ALDI’s to be under strong construction and well before the end of the year, and then hopefully, I do not have an open date yet, but I would say early 2025, they will actually open," the mayor said.

The first ALDI to open in the Jackson-metro area was in Flowood in 2023.
