JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Several stolen vehicles were recovered in Jackson on Tuesday, July 2.
Jackson police said they received a call round 11:00 a.m. regarding a stolen vehicle. The Auto Task Force, made up of Jackson police and Capitol police, responded.
Investigators said they were able to track the stolen vehicle to Auto Plus Towing and Salvage Yard in the 4800 block of College Hill Drive. They said they found more stolen vehicles at the location.
Two of the vehicles were reported stolen in the Brookhaven area, and the other seven were reported stolen in Jackson. Authorities could recover more stolen vehicles as the investigation continues.
“They were able to run those VIN numbers. In those VIN numbers were listed on NCIC as stolen vehicles. That investigation is still ongoing into whether or not they were using any type of crime outside of just being stolen vehicle," said Captain Warren Hull with the Jackson Police Department (JPD).
Investigators said a suspect was identified for questioning, but they did not provide any further information.
