SHARKEY COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) - Another tornado touched down in Sharkey County nearly two years after an EF-4 tornado devastated Rolling Fork.
The storm occurred on Sunday, March 23 west of Rolling Fork, according to a preliminary storm report by the National Weather Service (NWS). The tornado was an EF-1.
The home that belonged to Sharkey County EMA Director Frank Eason was damaged during the storm. Trees and power lines were also knocked down in the county.
“When I was able to walk in, there were lines all over the ground and the devastation with my carport, with my storage shed, the roof at my house, the roof over my foyer. But through it all, my wife was fine when I got inside, and we got her safe," Eason stated.
Eason said he's thankful that no injuries were reported. A group of volunteers and family members are helping Eason and his wife get back on their feet.
