ISSAQUENA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) - Neighbors in the Grace community were impacted by a tornado on Saturday that destroyed homes and knocked down power poles.
The community, located west of Rolling Fork, used tractors and other equipment to clear their yards, remove debris from farmland and tear down damaged walls.
Todd Goza was at his aunt and uncle's home when the storm hit. He said he hit the kitchen floor as glass shattered the dining room. Goza is thankful that he was on the bottom floor of the home.
"Probably wouldn’t have got down. I probably would’ve got killed, but I'm all right now since it's over with," he said.
The storm was so strong that it threw bricks, a door and a window frame from upstairs and scattered them inside the front door.
