JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - A Jackson nonprofit is asking for help as they operate a warming shelter to help those in need.
Champion Gym in Jackson filled quickly due to the freezing temperatures. The City of Jackson has partnered with Shower Power to operate the shelter.
Some of the services people receive are pillows, blankets, cots and showers. They also get three meals a day. Organizers with Shower Power are asking for help by donating food.
“Honey buns and Pop Tarts and chips and cookies and all the things that you would enjoy sitting around snacking on, our friends would enjoy, as well," said Mary Ann Kirby, director of Operations for Shower Power.
Monetary donations can be made online.
