MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two residents living on Twin Harbor Place in Madison abruptly woke up Friday morning to find their home no longer in liveable condition.

Two trees fell on their home right above a child's bedroom. The homeowner and his daughter were then taken to a nearby hospital Friday morning and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A crew worked Friday to get the trees off the house. The trees that fell came from a neighbor's yard; they were already dead.

Jared Morrison, owner of Morrison Welding and Crane Service, helped to remove some debris. He urges homeowners to be vigilant about large trees.

“Fortunately we've not had any loss of life, but you see what could be if you're in that room,” Morrison said.

It could take up to a year to restore the house.
